Heidi Schreck is a writer and performer living in Brooklyn. She started her theater career in Seattle in the 1990s at Printer's Devil Theater, founded by Paul Willis and her now-husband Kip Fagan, and she is excited to be returning to the city after so many years. Heidi's play What the Constitution Means to Me was named a Pulitzer Prize finalist and won the Obie Award and New York Drama Critics’ Circle Award for Best American Play in 2019. She also received two Tony Award nominations for Best Play and Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Play, and received the 2019 Benjamin Hadley Danks Award from the Academy of Arts and Letters. A filmed version of What the Constitution Means to Me, starring Schreck, premiered in 2020 exclusively on Amazon Prime Video, and was nominated for a Critics Choice Award, a PGA Award, and a DGA Award. Her other work includes Grand Concourse, which debuted at Playwrights Horizons and Steppenwolf Theatres in 2014/15 and was a finalist for the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, and her first play Backwards into China, produced by Printer's Devil at the Theater Off Jackson in 1997. Screenwriting credits include “I Love Dick,” “Billions,” “Nurse Jackie," "Dispatches from Elsewhere," and projects in development with Plan B, Amazon, and Imagine Television. Heidi has also taught playwriting and screenwriting at NYU, Columbia, and Kenyon College and is the recipient of three Obie Awards, a Drama Desk, the Horton Foote Playwriting Award, and a Theatre World Award.

Oliver Butler (he/him) is a theater director based in Queens, NY. He directed the Broadway premiere of Heidi Schreck’s What the Constitution Means to Me (Best Play Tony Award Nomination, Obie Award Winner, Lucille Lortel Award Nomination, Drama League Award Nomination, Outer Critics Circle Award Nomination, Drama Desk Award Nomination, and Finalist for the 2019 Pulitzer Prize for Drama). Other recent credits include: the NYC premiere of Will Eno’s GNIT at Theatre for a New Audience; the world premiere of Will Eno’s The Plot at Yale Repertory Theatre; the world premiere of Jordan Harrison’s The Amateurs at The Vineyard; the West Coast Premiere of Will Eno's Thom Pain (based on nothing) starring Rainn Wilson at The Geffen Playhouse; and the triumphant return of Thom Pain (based on nothing) to New York starring Michael C. Hall at Signature Theatre Company. Additional career highlights include: Itamar Moses’s The Whistleblower at Denver Center, Christopher Shinn's An Opening in Time at Hartford Stage, Daniel Goldfarb's Legacy at Williamstown Theatre Festival, the world premiere of Timeshare by Lally Katz at The Malthouse in Melbourne, and the world premiere of Will Eno’s The Open House (OBIE Award for Direction; Lortel Award, Best Play) at the Signature Theatre Company. He is a co-founder and co-artistic director of The Debate Society with whom he has directed 10 premieres in 15 years including The Light Years (Playwrights Horizons), Jacuzzi (Ars Nova), and Blood Play (Bushwick Starr). He is a Sundance Institute Fellow and a Bill Foeller Fellow (Williamstown).

Bret Torbeck (he/him) is thrilled to be joining the Skin of Our Teeth company and working with so many Public Works heroes. Recently he has enjoyed working at ACT and Seattle Opera. His day job is getting to work with the inspiring students at Cornish College of the Arts as Associate Professor of Stage Management. He is a board member of Seattle Public Theater.

Rachael (she/her) is glad to be back at Seattle Rep this season. Most recently she was here at Seattle Rep working as an Assistant Stage Manager on Bruce. Rachael is a proud Seattle Rep intern from the 2009/10 season. Gin Hammond (she/her) is a Harvard University/Moscow Art Theatre grad and a certified Associate Teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework™. Hammond teaches voice in many forms and can be heard on commercials, audiobooks, radio plays, and a variety of video games including BattleTech, DotA 2, State of Decay 1 & 2, Aion, and Halo 3 ODST and is the voice director and dialect coach for the video game, Post-Human W.A.R. Hammond has also been a dialect and vocal coach for ACT Theater, The 5th Avenue Theatre, Seattle Rep, Book-It Repertory Theatre, Taproot, Seattle Children's Theatre, Village Theatre, and films, and is the co-founder of the MFA: Meditations for Actors™ mobile app.

Cassie Beck is thrilled to make her Seattle Rep debut after playing 13 cities for over 6 months on tour! Broadway credits include the revival of The Rose Tattoo, original cast member of The Humans (Tony Award, Drama Desk Award, LA/London), Picnic, and The Norman Conquests. Off-Broadway she’s developed, created, and premiered various roles at Playwrights Horizons, Manhattan Theatre Club, Atlantic Theater Company, Roundabout Theatre Company, Ars Nova, Classic Stage Company, WP Theater, and others. She’s done the same regionally, including at The Ahmanson, South Coast Rep, The Huntington, Actors’ Theatre of Louisville – Humana Festival, Long Wharf Theatre (a world premiere by Heidi Schreck), and the Williamstown Theatre Festival. You may have caught her as Courtney Thacker on the recent reboot of “I Know What You Did Last Summer” for Amazon Prime. Gabriel Marin (he/him) is excited to make his Seattle Rep debut. Marin has most recently been seen in how to make an American Son (Arizona Theatre Company) and Off-Broadway in Then They Forgot About The Rest (INTAR), as well as the National Tour of What the Constitution Means to Me. Leah Scott is a passionate youth advocate dedicated to creating innovative opportunities to uplift and empower youth of underserved communities. She is a transfer at the University of Washington studying political science and law, aspiring to attend law school after her B.A. She specializes in methodically and intentionally balancing critical thought and practical action to achieve systematic reformations regarding prominent social issues. Illustrated through her work in The Seattle Times and the R.A.R.E. Documentary, Leah is a community-rooted activist with a fiery fervor for education, social justice, and equity.

Mara Gonzalez Moral (she/her) is a Spanish performer and debater who believes that the power of theater and debate alike are their ability to help people step into someone else’s shoes and build empathy as they learn about their struggles and their experiences. She is currently a sophomore at Issaquah High School who since a very early age has been involved in the theater and leadership departments at her school. Past performances at her schools include Jasmine in Aladdin, Chip in Beauty and the Beast, Alyssa in Northview High Will Shelter You (If We Must), and Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet. Right now, Mara is in Village Theatre’s Institute program where she continues to use theater as a way to become a more empathetic leader and a more realistic and powerful actor.

MJ has been a member of the Seattle theater community since 2001 after graduating from Cornish College of the Arts. Since then, he’s worked with Seattle Rep (Dry Powder, Outside Mullingar, Glengarry Glen Ross, Photograph 51, Twelfe Night), ACT Theatre (Oslo, The Crucible, Stupid Fucking Bird, Lieutenant of Inishmore), Intiman, Seattle Shakespeare Company, Strawberry Theatre Workshop, Village Theatre, and was a founding member and artistic associate with New Century Theatre Company directing the West Coast premiere of Annie Baker’s Pulitzer Prize winner The Flick. He’s also been featured in various film and TV projects and just directed the short film Prepared written by his incredible wife and partner Keiko Green. They currently reside in LA with their Bassett Hound, Gus.
