Seattle is a hub for environmental justice work. For The Children, Seattle Rep is partnering with a few of the many organizations leading the charge on climate change in the region. Get involved and learn how you can support these organizations in their work to protect our environment.

Ridwell partners with local companies and non-profits to give your stuff a new life. Headquartered in Seattle, Ridwell partners with local organizations that can reuse specific items and help you de-clutter your home as well as reduce waste. The organization hosts kitchenware drives for the Refugee Women’s Alliance (ReWA, one of Seattle Rep’s Public Works partners); eyeglasses drives for Northwest Lions; diaper drives for WestSide Baby; and so much more. Ridwell also ensures that your stuff is being handled ethically and sustainably throughout the recycling process.

The Sierra Club is the most enduring and influential grassroots environmental organization in the U.S. They amplify the power of their 3.8 million members and supporters to defend everyone’s right to a healthy world. The Washington State Chapter works locally to reduce our state’s reliance on fossil fuels and contribution to the climate crisis by building an equitable economy that runs on clean energy. From defeating proposals for new coal export terminals to putting our state’s electricity grid on a path to 100% clean energy by 2045, the Sierra Club has helped make Washington a national leader in the climate fight.
