Benjamin Benne (he/him) is an itinerant playwright from Los Angeles County, whose playwriting career began right here in Seattle (where he resided from 2013-16)! Locally, his work has been developed and produced by Parley, Freehold Theatre, Umbrella Project, Playing In Progress' Snowglobed, Forward Flux, Annex Theatre, Theatre Battery, ACT Theatre, and Seattle Rep, among others. Most recently, his play Alma (Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre, American Blues Theater, Curious Theatre Company, Central Square Theater, The Spot; Upcoming: Chance Theater) was produced in ArtsWest's 2021/22 season. Other plays include What / Washed Ashore / Astray (Pillsbury House Theatre), In His Hands (Mosaic Theater; Upcoming: First Floor), and Manning (Upcoming: Portland Stage). His work has been seen and developed coast to coast in Los Angeles (Boston Court Pasadena), Orange County (South Coast Repertory), San Diego (The Old Globe, La Jolla Playhouse), Texas (Texas Tech), Denver (Denver Center for the Performing Arts), Minneapolis (Playwrights' Center), Indiana (New Harmony Project), New Jersey (Two River Theater), Connecticut (The O'Neill), and NYC (The Public Theater, Roundabout Theatre Company, Playwrights Realm, The Lark), among many others. He is a current member of the Dorothy Strelsin New American Writers Group at Primary Stages NYC, a Playwrights' Center Core Writer, and was named part of "LA Vanguardia: The Latino innovators, investigators, and power players breaking through barriers” by the Los Angeles Times. Dámaso Rodríguez is a director of new and classic plays with over 100 credits at theaters across the country. Most recently, he concluded a nine-year tenure as Artistic Director of Artists Rep in Portland, Oregon. In prior years, he co-founded L.A.’s Furious Theatre and served as Associate Artistic Director of the Pasadena Playhouse. He is a recipient of awards from LA Drama Critics Circle, Back Stage, and the NAACP. Dámaso serves on the Directors Council of the Drama League and the Latinx Theatre Commons Steering Committee, and is a member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society.
