The Agony and the Ecstasy of Steve Jobs
April 22 - May 22, 2011
Bagley Wright Theater
As someone who loves technology and Apple in particular, Mike Daisey never thought about how all the devices he uses were made—the gorgeous iPhones and MacBooks were designed so well, it seemed as though they were made by the mind of Steve Jobs himself. To discover the truth he traveled China to investigate the true story of the labor conditions under which all our electronics are made, and as his undercover investigation continued it unveiled what he calls “a charged ethical dilemma that is literally in our pockets.”
The Agony and the Ecstasy of Steve Jobs weaves together the truths Daisey learned in China, his own stories of leading a life fascinated with technology, and a look at the unbelievable career of Steve Jobs, the obsessive visionary CEO of Apple.
