Donor-Advised Funds

Seattle Rep accepts gifts made via donor-advised funds (DAFs). Donor-advised funds will apply towards your annual giving level. Donor-advised funds offer donors tax advantages at the time of the original DAF contribution. Because of this, gifts made to Seattle Rep from a donor-advised fund are not eligible for donor benefits that have a fair market value associated with them. Please contact the organization holding your DAF for more information on making charitable contributions to Seattle Rep or if you have any questions about the tax deductibility of your gift.

Stock Gifts

Seattle Rep gratefully accepts gifts made via stock transfer. Gift values are determined by the mean price of the stock on the day it is received by our investment manager who handles all gifts of stock benefiting Seattle Rep, free of any commission charges for either the seller or the recipient.

To transfer stock electronically to Seattle Rep, please provide your transferring brokerage with Seattle Rep's brokerage information which can be found below.  Please select the brokerage information based on whether your gift is to Seattle Rep or is restricted to the Seattle Rep Endowment.

IRA Charitable Rollover

Donating to Seattle Rep directly from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) is an easy and efficient way to make a big impact for the mission-driven programs and productions that you love. If you are 70½ years of age or older, you can make a transfer directly from your IRA to Seattle Rep without realizing any taxable income. If you are age 72 or older, this charitable transfer can also satisfy your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD).

You may make a charitable rollover gift by instructing your plan administrator to directly transfer a gift to Seattle Rep.  Because your gift may be received without any name or contact info associated with it, please let us know you have made a gift by e-mailing giving@seattlerep.org.

IRA Gift Rules and Requirements

  • With the passage of the SECURE Act, as of January 1, 2020, the age at which individuals must begin taking Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) from their retirement savings has risen from 70½ to 72
  • You may still make a gift from your IRA if you are 70½ years of age on the date of the gift
  • You may contribute up to $100,000 per year as an individual
  • You must transfer funds directly from your IRA to Seattle Rep or the charity of your choice
  • You do not realize any taxable income on the transfer and cannot claim an income tax deduction for the gift
  • If you are 70½ years of age or older (but under age 72), any qualifying charitable deductions, while excluded from taxable income, may be included in calculating your future requirement minimum distribution
  • No goods or services may be received for your donation (please contact us to learn about which donor benefits you are eligible to receive when you give through your IRA)

Please consult your financial advisor for guidance about how making an IRA charitable rollover gift affects your specific situation.
