Registration

Register to participate in the 2023/24 Seattle Next Narrative Monologue Competition by February 4, 2024. Registration for the 2024/25 NNMC will open in Spring/Summer 2024.

Coaching Sessions

Coaching Sessions are not mandatory but are highly encouraged for all participants of the Next Narrative Monologue Competition. These drop-in sessions will provide one-on-one support from various different Teaching Artists who will help bring out your best monologue performance. These sessions are acting, public speaking, and performance masterclasses that will build your skills beyond the competition itself in addition to preparing you to compete. You can come to as many or as few coaching sessions as you choose.

Prep for Preliminaries

• Online: Wednesdays, January 10, 17, 24, and 31 at 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. Click link - here
• In person: Saturday, January 13 at 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Seattle Rep

Prep for Semifinals 

• Online: Wednesdays, February 14, 21, and 28 at 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. Click link - here
• In person: Saturday, February 17 at 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Prep for Regional Finals 

• In person: Saturdays, March 9, 16, 23, and 30 at 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Seattle Rep

Competition Dates 

Attending competition dates and the dress rehearsals leading up to regional finals are required for participation.

• Preliminaries: Saturday, February 10, 2024 - all day/online
• Semifinals: Thursday, March 8, 2024 at 7 p.m. at Northwest African American Museum
• Regional Finals: Friday, April 5, 2024 at 7 p.m. at Seattle Rep
• National Finals: May 5 - 6 in NYC at The Apollo Theatre
