Improv for Wellness Drop-In Sessions

Made for people of all creative & professional interest, backgrounds, and communities - the Improv for Wellness series combines established wellness practices, improvisation, and theater techniques to help students learn tools for self-empowerment across mind, body, and spirit. 

For ages adults & ages 16 and up.

November 1, 8, 15, 29 - December 6, 13, 20 at 7 p.m.

 

Led by Teague M. Parker of Come Up Productions, the Improv for Wellness series combines established wellness practices, Improvisation, and theater techniques to help students learn the tools for self-empowerment across mind, body, and spirit both on and off the stage. Whether you're a dancer, singer, actor, painter, or just curious about learning to commit to your impulses, this is the perfect space to learn an accessible approach to Improv that can be applied to all aspects of life.

Participants will Learn: 

  • Building off the ideas / impulses of ourselves & others.

  • Incorporating Improv techniques for journaling and self-reflection.

  • Tools for discovering, drawing upon, and expressing our creativity.

  • Foundational tenets of Improvisation (Curiosity Mindset / "Yes, And..").

  • Shifting to an expansive mindset in creative and professional endeavors.

  • Discovering & embracing "Our Truths" to connect with ourselves and others

What To Expect: 

Through playing with solo and group Improv activities, free writes, exercises, and group discussions, we will discover how to reclaim and expand our identities while building connections based in authenticity. By drawing upon our inherent creativity, we'll learn to welcome vulnerability as a joyous, communal practice.
