In 2020, during the pandemic, I lost my source of income due to my inability to perform. However, I’ve always loved the benefits of Shea Butter and I frequently used it in my body and hair butter formulations. I started selling my butter to friends and family who loved them. I then decided to expand my knowledge and enrolled in programs that focused on more complex skincare formulations, including lotions, scrubs, soaps, and cosmetics. Today, we offer a variety of skin-yummy products that feature plant-based oils & butters. All of our products are hand-made with love and intention by me.

Skylar is a Black, trans nonbinary, disabled nail artist that hand-designs press-on nails with Black trans, gender non-conforming, queer, disabled people in mind. Empowering them to feel themselves all over! Knowing there is a community need to shop Black, queer owned businesses, they started Sweet Presss in June 2020 for people that want to get their nails did at home instead of a salon.
