For most of my time as an artist, I’ve worked in acrylic, mixed media painting, and drawings with graphite and colored pencil, ink, and marker. There was a season when retail chalkboard sign art was my daily bread and butter, but this is my first exhibition showing personal work as an adult. I enjoy abstract, flowing, strange, feminine, and natural influences in my art. My work has always been a little weird, a little dark, a little light, a little witchy. Renewal showcases ideas going as far back as eighteen years that I’ve revisited and revived and a few new pieces.

I'm a professionally trained energy healer and energy intuitive. My healing practice and healing path influence the art pieces I’ve highlighted for this exhibition. When I look at these pieces, I see moments disconnected and separate from myself. Looking at others, I see myself finding my center again, balanced and connected to the earth. I’m fortunate to have gifted and generous mentors in the energy healing work and art spheres of my life. Accepting this time to display my work publicly is vulnerable and an act of trust and courage, one I couldn’t have done without all those who support and guide me through my spectrum of experiences and lessons. The "Renewal" collection is dedicated to Jeanette Spotted Bear Richardson (July 29, 1937 - May 18, 2022), the kind of grandmother who always displayed her grandkids’ artwork on her walls.
