Do you love theater? Do you want to meet other theater enthusiasts?
Do you enjoy being in the know about what’s happening backstage?
Do you want to volunteer for one of Seattle’s best regional theaters? And have fun in the process?
You can do all this and more by becoming a member of one of the largest and most active volunteer theater organizations in the nation: Seattle Rep Organization (SRO).
The SRO has supported the Seattle Rep since the birth of the theater in 1963 and is written into the Rep’s charter. The current 60+ members serve the Rep in various ways including:
- Support administrative staff
- Provide treats for Tech Week and special events
- Support apprentices participating in Seattle Rep’s Winky Hussey Professional Arts Training Program
- Assist with prepping and staffing Revel and Raise, the Rep’s annual fundraising gala
But that’s not all.

With the SRO, you can see and do even more with Seattle Rep. You can meet the actors. Talk with the directors. Each of our monthly “Spotlight” meetings features a presentation by cast members, theater artists or staff, usually on a topic related to what’s currently playing at the Rep.
-
Explore the Plays in Depth
Book club, movie group, museum visits and field trips explore themes related to the Rep’s current show.
-
Immerse Yourself in Theater
Join the annual outing to the Ashland Shakespeare Festival for a week of theater, dinners, wine tasting, all that Ashland has to offer.

C.A.V.O.R.T.
As a member of SRO, you have the opportunity to attend Celebrate and Visit Our Regional Theatres (CAVORT), a biennial conference held at select professional theaters. The conferences blend theatre-going, education and networking with other theater volunteers, along with time for additional sightseeing.
