Emma

February 11, 2021

Bagley Wright Theater

Emma Woodhouse is a precocious matchmaker who delights in meddling in other people’s affairs, much to the dismay of her friend Mr. Knightley.

When she sets her sights on the lovelorn Harriet, Emma’s attempts to find the perfect match are thwarted at every turn. From adaptor Kate Hamill (Seattle Rep’s 2017 Pride and Prejudice) comes a new fast-paced, modern adaptation that enlivens Jane Austen’s classic tale of gossip, marriage, and misunderstanding with screwball comedy and surprises aplenty.
