Alexis Scheer’s breakout play was the Off-Broadway hit Our Dear Dead Drug Lord (New York Times Critics Pick, John Gassner Award; LTC Carnaval of New Latinx Work; Kilroy’s List), and she made her Broadway debut adapting the book for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Bad Cinderella. Other plays include 'Til Death (a 2ST commission), Laughs in Spanish (Kennedy Center’s Harold & Mimi Steinberg Award), and Christina (Roe Green Award; O’Neill Finalist). Her plays have been produced at theaters across the country including Second Stage, WP Theater, Center Theatre Group, Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Hartford Stage, Seattle Rep, Stages Houston, GableStage, Zoetic Stage, SpeakEasy Stage, Boston Playwrights' Theatre, and many more. Artistic Director at Seattle Rep since July 2023, Dámaso Rodríguez is a director of new and classic plays with over 100 credits at theaters across the country. Most recently, he concluded a nine-year tenure as Artistic Director of Artists Rep in Portland, Oregon. In prior years, he co-founded L.A.’s Furious Theatre and served as Associate Artistic Director of the Pasadena Playhouse. He is a recipient of awards from LA Drama Critics Circle, Back Stage, and the NAACP. Gabriell Salgado is thrilled to make his Seattle Rep debut! He recently reprised the role of Juan Julian in Anna in the Tropics at Asolo Repertory Theatre after performing in the play’s 20th anniversary production, directed by Nilo Cruz.
