Seattle Rep’s renowned Professional Arts Training Program has been preparing theatre artists and administrators for over 20 years.

Below are some of the frequently asked questions:

Do you offer mid-season Internships?

No. All of our Internships and Apprenticeships take place for 25-30 weeks during our full season (August – May).

Are there acting Internships?

No, we do not offer acting Internship opportunities.

I’m not available for part of the standard 30-week contract period, can I still do an Internship?

Start dates may vary from Internship to Internship and depending on the season, so please ask about the timeline for a specific Internship if this is a concern. But generally, Intern contracts are for the full 30-week season.

Can I talk to current Interns about their experiences at Seattle Rep?

Yes, email and we can put you in touch with one or two of this year’s Interns. Don’t worry if you don’t get an immediate response—it just means we’re busy!

Will I be able to have a second, part-time job?

Maybe. Work schedules are different depending on the type of Internship. A few of the positions have fairly regular work hours that do allow for evening jobs, but others, like Lighting Design, have shifting schedules that differ according to a play’s production schedule.

Should I expect to receive a confirmation that Seattle Rep received my application?

Yes, you will receive an email confirming receipt of your application.

When should I expect to hear back about my application?

Please note the application deadline. Supervisors typically schedule interviews with their top candidates by April 30 and make offers by May 15. All applicants will receive notice by the end of May.

Can I get academic credit for this Internship?

If Interns wish to receive academic credit for their Internship, it is the Intern's responsibility to make arrangements with the sponsoring institution. Seattle Rep will provide the sponsoring institution any necessary reports or evaluations.

I don’t see an answer to my question. Who do I contact?

If you have any questions about the application process, please email We suggest you get in touch with the Education Department no later than February 28 to answer any questions you may have. The closer we get to deadline, the busier we’ll be and we cannot guarantee a speedy response. Thanks for understanding!
