Cheer on the next generation of theater makers, artists, and creatives! You’re invited to the 2026 Seattle Regional Finals of the Next Narrative Monologue Competition.
Watch the incredibly talented teen finalists of our Regional Next Narrative Monologue Competition perform new monologues by America’s leading Black playwrights on the Leo K. stage. The top two winners will be flown to the National Finals in New York City, representing our region as they compete to perform at the iconic Apollo Theater.
True Colors' Next Narrative Monologue CompetitionTM (NNMC) features newly created works from fifty of America's leading contemporary Black playwrights that engage students of all backgrounds in artful exploration of 21st-century themes, while instilling confidence in all to find their voices.
