Brendan Healy is a Seattle-born playwright whose plays have been produced in Chicago, Minneapolis, and Seattle, while his short plays have been produced across the country. He is a four-time finalist and one-time recipient of the Heideman Award from Actors Theatre of Louisville.

His play Suffering, Inc. was listed as one of the top seven plays of the decade by The Seattle Times (Dec. 2019). Eulogy was praised by The Seattle Times as among the “Best Seattle Theater of 2025” and is slated for a production at Artists Repertory Theatre in Portland next spring. Some of his other full-length plays include The Secret Recordings of Lenin..., Relatively We, Hotdish, City of Presidents, Mangrove Park, Not/Our Town, and two children's plays.

Brendan received his MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and was a member of Seattle Rep’s Writers Group from 2014–2016. He is a founding member of Pony World Theatre.

A Midwest transplant to the Pacific Northwest, Leah is a theatre director, arts educator, whimsy-maker, and producer of stories. Locally, she has directed for Strawberry Theatre Workshop, Seattle Shakespeare, Sound Theatre, Pony World, Seattle Public Theatre, UW School of Drama, and Cornish College of the Arts, among others.

Leah is committed to the power of theatre and story as a catalyst for community creation, a vehicle for joy and inspiration, and a space where we are invited and challenged to imagine sustainable social change and a future worth forging. Leah is the founding Artistic Director of Bread & Roses Theatre Company, a touring troupe of storytellers, rabble rousers, and clowns that believe sharing stories builds community, the collective experience of joy is essential to thriving, and that we begin by meeting people where they are. Bread and Roses bridges barriers to create and offer live theatre performances for and with audiences in transitional housing spaces, emergency shelters, recovery sites, community centers, and public libraries throughout the region. 

When not making plays or talking about them, Leah works as a professional dog trainer and instructor with the Prison Pet Partnership Program at WCCW in Gig Harbor where she is inspired daily by the way humans and dogs can connect, heal, and begin again.

Leah holds BA’s in Theatre Arts and Theology from Hamline University in St. Paul, MN, and an MFA in Directing from the University of Washington School of Drama.
