Food & Supplies Drive for ReWA

Apr 22 — May 22, 2022

Throughout the run of Selling Kabul, Seattle Rep will be collecting donations to support local Afghan refugee families in partnership with Refugee Women’s Alliance (ReWA) (a long-time partner of Seattle Rep's Public Works) and Seattle Opera. Bring your donations when you see any of Seattle Rep’s shows from April 22 - May 22, 2022. You will see bins in the lobby where you can leave your donation. Thank you so much for your support of our local community!

About the Drive

Due to the large influx of Afghan refugees arriving in the Puget Sound, the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) has contracted with ReWA to act as a resettlement agency, assisting 25 Afghan families find employment and housing. ReWA case managers are helping new arrivals with basic needs, including accessing public benefits (cash and food), enrolling in Apple Health, Emergency needs (food, clothing, diapers, etc.), enrolling in school, and more.

The Seattle Opera will be holding a drive in their building at the same time, during their run of The Marriage of Figaro.
