(Re)Imagine Educational Theater Pt 2: Arts Educators
Thursday, November 4 at 5 p.m. PT
Online Event
Education programs have become ubiquitous at theaters of all sizes, providing youth with opportunities to express themselves, learn through embodied practice, and make their voices heard through theater. Educational theater, however, faces inequities regarding youth opportunity, especially for BIPOC youth, and still often operates through problematic structures. In this discussion, arts educators and youth will imagine a more equitable and supported world of arts education.
This two-part series starts with an all-youth panel, in order to center youth voices as we imagine the future for programs that impact them. Then arts educators will respond to the questions and ideas raised in the youth panel and discuss how to realize the vision of our young participants and audiences.
