Privilege in Times of Crisis

Wednesday, February 19

With every passing year, climate change more crucially affects our lives and the lives of the next generation. The ways in which climate change affects each person differs drastically depending on race, geography, and economic status, among other factors. Privilege plays a role in how we encounter climate change, as well as what we can do to counter it. How does the meaning and power of privilege shift in times of community crisis and how should we harness our privilege at those times?

This post-show panel discussion will explore the nuances of personal and societal responsibility today, and leave you with practical tools to make a difference. Panelists include:

  • Mike Paoli, Chief Communications Officer at Energy Northwest
  • Jason Groves, Assistant Professor of Germanics at UW
