A Note from Seattle Rep Leadership: What’s Happening Now
Seattle Rep is entering a new season with bold work on our stages, renewed investment in artists and the next generation of theater makers, and a growing presence in the national theater conversation.
From new plays launching here and taking off across the country, to deepening community partnerships and celebrating our first year of new education programs, the work happening at Seattle Rep right now reflects both where we are, and where we’re going. We’re excited to share a snapshot of this momentum with you.
Our current season has seen Seattle Rep’s second-highest-grossing show in the theater’s history (the 10th anniversary production of Come From Away) and our fifth-highest-grossing production transfer to Portland Center Stage for a totally sold-out run (The Play That Goes Wrong). Our subscriber family has grown, and we've welcomed 21% more theatergoers—and this season isn't over yet!
Together, these milestones reflect growing audiences and fuller houses—signs that our commitment to bold, large-scale work and sustained investment in the art is resonating.
We also acknowledge this moment comes amid real challenges for the local and national theater landscape. That Seattle Rep has been able to keep moving forward, thoughtfully and with a long‑term view, is something we don’t take lightly. Our work continues because of the trust and commitment from you: our audiences, donors, artists, staff, and community.
Read on to explore what we’ve been up to and what's on the horizon. We look forward to seeing you at the theater soon.
