Matt Giles – Associate Producing Director

What is your favorite Rep production of all time? Why?

My favorite Rep production of all time is Clybourne Park. Bruce Norris’ writes dialogue so beautifully, and the play deals with a very pressing issue in a funny but serious way. Our design team knocked it out of the park, and Braden’s direction was sublime. Not to mention it was one of the finest ensembles of actors ever assembled in Seattle.

What do you enjoy the most about your job?

While my job can get bogged down in details, I love knowing I’m a part of something bigger than myself. The plays we produce as an organization can’t happen without the work we do in production. It’s hard to remember that when you’re up to your neck in spreadsheets and contracts, but when you see a show on opening night, you can’t help but feel you were an integral part of the process.
