An evening of entertainment including nationally recognized dancers, singers as well as local pre-professional dance students from Eizabeth's Dance Dimensions.
Tricia (Grove) Johnson has been our inspiration from the start. After being diagnosed initially in 2002 than enduring multiple recurrences, she continues to inspire us with her determination and a true will to live. Tricia is determined to help find a cure for cancer so that no one has to endure what she has gone through. Her passion can be seen in all the performances on this special night.
Special guest performances this year include musical guests Ashley Chambliss whose hits include "Doing Pretty Good" and "Starstruck Love"; Christina Woodard and Joelle Martinec, elite Los Angeles-based choreographers performing with our very own Mo-dazz alumnae. Returning this year as a guest performer is Gregg Russel, tapper extraordinaire!
This is our sixth year and we are excited to expand the range of performers and highlight the talents of our dancers from Elizabeth's Dance Dimensions. Please come and help us in our efforts to support Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center the Pete Gross House.
We will also be recognizing some additional cancer champions this year. Michelle Millman, KIRO 7 TV anchor, who has led a very public and courageous battle with breast cancer; Mark Day of the Renton Police Department who has spent countless hours working with the Hutchinson Center in their research efforts; and Gary Yost, our 2009 champion who will share how the past year has gone for him.
All net proceeds from the amazing event will benefit Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and Pete Gross House.
Dance for a Cure is produced by Mo-dazz for the Arts, a non-profit organization.
